Description
Guided hiking tour to the Anaga Rural Park protected as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2015. You can ask us for the tour or level you want or let us advise you according to your motivations, tastes and expectations. We will pick you up at your accommodation and, at the end of the day, we will take you back. You will be accompanied by an experienced hiking guide who will show you around Anaga.
Anaga is a mountainous massif located in the northeast corner of the island of Tenerife. It is criss-crossed by deep ravines to the north and south of a central ridge culminating in the Cruz de Taborno at an altitude of 1,024m. Its peaks are covered by the laurel forest and its coasts are cliffy, for the most part, although it has some of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Numerous picturesque hamlets are scattered throughout the complicated orography of this territory. Its inhabitants have known how to take advantage of the resources of this natural terrestrial and coastal environment and have bequeathed us a valuable rural, cultural and ethnographic heritage that we can appreciate in every corner of Anaga. Cultivation terraces, cobbled paths, wine presses, caves, corners of goats and countless other elements tell stories of hard work, isolation and celebration of life.
We will walk along one of the trails of this mountain massif, one of the oldest on the island of Tenerife, at least 7 million years old, we will discover the rich biodiversityof plant and animal species that inhabit it and we will learn about the history and ethe legacy passed down by its inhabitants.
During our routes we try to promote local economic development by suggesting a stop at the bar or restaurant of the farmhouse we pass through to taste the local gastronomy or simply have a drink.
